Care Package Campaign ’21
Pack Up Some Love!
College has always been tough, and 2021 only made it harder.
But Project Discovery students are tougher. Many have graduated and now attend college, often the first in their family to do so.
Please, will you help us send them into 2022 and the second semester with all the supplies they need to study hard, stay healthy, and have the time of their lives?
Care packages are a great way to help a college student far from home, or just to keep up with a busy and expensive life. Things often requested include note pads, pens, portable chargers, bath towels, body wash sets, shower caddies, toothbrushes & toothpaste, snack boxes, and socks.
This Giving Tuesday (Nov. 30) and throughout the holiday season, the Project Discovery of Alexandria Advisory Board asks you to donate to help us deliver care packages to students in need.
We are also always raising money for scholarships for these same students. Each spring, the Board awards $1000 or $500 scholarships to seniors in the Project Discovery program at Alexandria City High School (ACHS) and to alumni of the program currently in college. For more information, please go here.
In our Care Package Campaign ’21, we will award care packages to the first four alumni who apply and to 1 senior in the ACHS program. The rest of the money raised will go to scholarships, which will be given out in the spring.
There are dozens of Project Discovery alumni working hard towards a college degree right now and dozens more at ACHS getting ready to take their turn. Please help them become the wise leaders and good citizens of our future!
With much gratitude and best wishes,
The Project Discovery of Alexandria Advisory Board
